Last weekend we hosted the New York City High School Debate Championships featuring the top teams from across the city. Thank you to the Citi Foundation and the National Association of Urban Debate Leagues for making this tournament possible. Special shout outs to Luke Hill and Natanya Meyers from the National Association of Urban Debate Leagues who helped staff the tournament and to Luke for running our Tabroom. Thank you to the Institute for Collaborative Education for hosting the tournament. Congratulations to all our high schools for participating – ACORN Community, All City Leadership, Benjamin Banneker, Bronx Collaborative, Brooklyn Tech, Democracy Prep, Health Professions, Institute for Collaborative Education, KIPP Academy, Maspeth High School, Mott Hall, Queens High School for the Sciences, Science, Technology and Research, Stuyvesant High School, William Grady Career and Technical High School.
Late elimination rounds will be hosted this week at ACORN Community High School and Kirkland and Ellis Law Firm. The winners of these rounds will represent the New York City Urban Debate League at the National Association of Urban Debate Leagues National Championship Tournament and the National Debate Coaches Association.

The National Association for Urban Debate Leagues will host its 8th Annual Urban Debate National Championship Tournament weekend held April 10-12, 2015 at The University of Southern California.

The Urban Debate National Championship Tournament kicks off with NAUDL’s eighth Annual Dinner held at the University of Southern California in the Ronald Tutor Campus Ballroom at The Tutor Campus Center. Please support urban debate and the work of the NAUDL by purchasing a table of ten, for up to eight guests, or a table of eight for up to six guests for the 2015 Annual Dinner. Marc Alan Brown will appear as the evening’s emcee. Mr. Brown is the anchor of the ABC7 Eyewitness News HD newscasts at 5PM and 11PM in Los Angeles.
National Championship Tournament Weekend
Friday April 10 – Sunday April 12, 2015
The top-ranked urban debate teams will come together to compete for the coveted Urban Debate National Championship title. Eligible leagues send their top-ranked teams and coaches to compete in the only national tournament exclusively for urban debate leagues. More than 100 debaters and coaches are expected to attend this year’s tournament, held on the campus of the University of Southern California.
